With majestic mountains and magical forests in Hallingdal surrounding you, you can learn something completely new through the elective courses at the folk high school or delve deeper into something you are already interested in. The teachers at Hallingdal Folk High School have extensive experience and good expertise - this will be eventful!
It is your and the other students' interests, as well as the teacher's resources, that determine which electives are prioritized. You can choose two electives before and after Christmas. So 4 electives in total in a school year :)

"Ta up fag" is an elective course for those of you who want to take up subjects when you attend Hallingdal folk high school.
Do you want to improve your grades, or maybe you are missing one or more subjects from high school? Through the elective "take subjects" you have the opportunity to take exams in the subjects as a private student and receive guidance and support from the school's teachers. You can choose between self-study or exam-oriented teaching through our collaboration with the Academy .
Bouncy gymnastics training! You will learn basic elements on the mat, trampoline and trampoline in addition to strength and mobility training.
Learn simple yoga exercises, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation.
Green Everyday Life is an elective course for those who want to learn how to make good nature and environmental choices in their everyday lives. We will gain experience by sticking our fingers in the ground, putting our heads together, being creative, innovative and contributing to a sustainable effort for the community.
Do you want to sing or play in a band? Learn to play an instrument? Hallingdal Folk High School offers practice rooms and instruments.
Learn to repair or redesign skis, helmets, dresses, pants, skis or shoes. We also make batik.
Want to learn many different throws? Don't you understand the numbers on the discs? It's okay! In the frisbee golf elective we will play our way to solutions - and you will get better. Most importantly, it's SUPER fun :)
Join us for summer and fall railing, and design your own garden park. Lay the foundation for a wonderful ski season!
Paddling in the Hallingdal River? Build your own Greenland kayak out of wood and linen according to your own body measurements. We have a workshop at the school with the necessary equipment. Additional costs: Approximately 3500,-
Reflecting on life? Here we wonder about various topics that you yourself help to decide. We have previously philosophized about choice, consciousness, heritage and environment, love and whether there is life on other planets.
We train core muscles with a focus on the abdomen and back: the special muscle groups that are intended to ensure the body's stability. Perfect basic training for a long, injury-free and fun ski season.
Do you have a passion for climbing? We have our own bouldering room and superb bouldering opportunities in nature, both here at Gol and elsewhere in Hallingdal. Down in Gol we also have a large climbing wall with 2 larger bouldering rooms!
Learn both skating and classic techniques and go on long ski trips over Golsfjellet and in Hemsedal. Here we light a bonfire and create cozy picnic areas.
The gybe lives and we will live the gybe together!

Jibbing is culture.

Here we will go skiing and snowboarding regardless of the weather and conditions. Maybe the conditions will be good, maybe it will be completely rubbish. It will be an adventure every time;-)

Want to learn techniques to manage stress? We will talk about what causes stress, what it does to the body and mind, and how we can deal with it. You will learn about meditation, breathing, TRE (tension and trauma releasing exercises), frontal/occipital hold, and relaxation.
