General information about the school's processing of personal data

Data controller
The principal is the data controller on behalf of Hallingdal Folkehøgskule for the company's processing of personal data. 

Personal data stored
We store the following personal information about our students: Name, address, telephone number, email address, personal identification number, account number, citizenship, gender, course choice, information about absences and specific health information.

Purpose of the treatment
We process the information in order to fulfill our obligations and provide the educational offer as agreed with you.
We also use the information to provide you with information in connection with student assemblies and other events held by the school.

The basis for the treatment
Information about name, address, telephone number, email address, personal identification number, account number, citizenship, gender, course choice, absence information and specific health information is used to fulfill the teaching agreement. The basis for this processing is Article 6 (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Where you have consented to this, the information is also used to provide you with information via email and SMS about student events and other events that the school has. The basis for this processing is the GDPR Art 6 (a). You can refuse to receive such information from us at any time.

Collection of personal data
We store the personal information you have provided on the application form at folkehogskole.no in connection with your application to the school.

Disclosure of information to third parties
We will not share, sell, transfer or otherwise disclose personal information to others unless we are legally obligated to do so.

Deletion of personal data
Information we have received in connection with your application will be stored in our active student register for 5 years. Information about names and school years will only be deleted upon request.

Information that we are obliged to preserve under the Accounting Act will be stored for up to 5 years, in accordance with the requirements of the law.

Rights of the data subject
We process your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and applicable regulations. Please note that you can request access to and transfer of your personal data, as well as request correction or deletion of information. You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority about processing in violation of the rules.

Information security
We secure your personal information through both physical and virtual access control, as well as by encrypting sensitive parts of the information provided.
