Our ski and snowboard school offers long traditions and high expertise. Hallingdal Folkehøgskule is located in the middle of a snow-sure eldorado with a short distance to Hemsedal ski center and Geilo ski center . You live only 300 meters away from Golbakken , and have Ål ski center , Hallingskarvet Ski center and Nesbyen Alpine Center is nearby. In addition, we have our own rail park with a snow cannon in the backyard that you can play in at any time. The school is within walking distance of the Gol sports arena with gymnastics, jumping and jumping. After Christmas we try to get four days a week on the snow; if you are keen, you can then board or ski every single day. In your free time, you have the park at the school and the annual pass to 7 of the valley's facilities - with the possibility of evening skiing and lift tickets on days off and during holidays.
Switch Park and powder
Switch - Park & Powder is the line for those who like skiing or snowboarding and want to learn more. This line is for everyone - both beginners and experts.
Line trip to Austria
At Switch you can develop at your own pace - through fun experiences, mastery and community. There is the possibility of over a hundred days on snow , and you yourself decide whether you want to focus on park, powder or both. In February we have a trip to Austria with the best parks and best off-piste.
At Switch you have a unique opportunity to develop your skiing and snowboarding skills! With so many days on the snow, you will experience great progress and get snowshoes for the rest of your life.

Practical information
Switch is the line for those who like to ski or snowboard, and who want to experience a snow-sure winter. The year is divided so that we have three line days a week, except for four weeks (the line weeks) where we are on tour the whole week.
Lift tickets for all facilities in Hallingdal are included.
Price for the school year 25/26:
Price full-year study: NOK 152,000
Price half year winter: NOK 82,000
The loan fund provides a loan for the school year 25/26 of NOK 151,690 . 60 percent of this sum is a loan, 40 percent is a loan that will be converted into a scholarship when you are approved for your year at folk high school. To have a loan converted into a scholarship, you cannot have undocumented absences that exceed 10 percent.
Compared to a year of study, a year at a folk high school is cheaper. Everything is included; food, electricity, internet, rent, academic activities and travel. On some line trips you buy your own lunch.
If you require special diets or a single room, there will be an additional charge.

Petter Jacobsen is a teacher at Switch. He grew up in Tønsberg, but has lived in Gol and Hemsedal since 1996. Petter is a specialist teacher in sports and outdoor activities with a specialization in skiing. Petter is interested in freeriding, cross-country skiing, jibbing, mountaineering and kiting. He has worked at Hallingdal Folk High School since 2008, and is, among other things, a ski and snowboard coach for children in Hemsedal.

- Hallingdal We go where the snow falls and are among the very first to enjoy ourselves in the parks.
- Zillertal (Austria) trip to powder snow skiing in an area that also offers some of Europe's best parks.

- High joints
- Hemsedal Spring, slush and jibbing six days in a row.
