School trip

Beautiful Italy!

We end the school year with a joint trip to idyllic Peschiera del Garda, located on Lake Garda. Here we enjoy the summer feeling, the world's best ice cream, fun activities, Italian cuisine, the beach, swimming and shared experiences. Here it is easy to find activities for all our lines, something for every taste.

During our stay we stay in cabins at the beautiful Bergamini Camping. We have our own outdoor swimming pool with a view of the sea and a few steps down to the beach. We like to start the day with a walk, yoga and a morning bath for those who wish. During the week we also go on a boat trip, bike ride, mountain hike, sea kayak and stand up paddleboard. And then we enjoy a lot of beach life and activities on the beach.

Life is wonderful in Italy. Here we create memories for life and a fantastic end to the world's best school year!

Collaboration week

This is a week at the start of the year where we focus on collaboration, community, and getting to know each other across the lines.

The students are divided into groups and given new tasks every day that they must solve together. The goal is to get to know each other better and become more confident in the group. With this week, we want to contribute to a better school environment. Cooperation is also one of the school's core values.

In our evaluations of the week, students particularly give feedback on the cohesion and community, the fact that you get to know most people better.

Election week

This is a nice and fun week where we focus on choices and values. This week is an inspiration to make conscious choices in life based on what values are important to you. We want to show that everything is possible, that each of us creates our own life through the choices we make. "Only you can live your life".

To convey these thoughts, we invite people from different backgrounds to talk about their choices in life and the consequences of this. We create a program that attempts to illuminate the many aspects and dilemmas of choice.

Local involvement

For Hallingdal Folk High School it is important to get involved in the local community. Here you can see some of the regular activities we participate in.

We participate in river clean-up, organize Health Dance for people with mental disabilities, pack food boxes for Christmas in collaboration with the Salvation Army, sing at the senior center, the Christmas tree lighting and the Christmas concert in Gol, co-organizer of the Buskerud Freeski Cup in Gol, officials at WC in Telemark at Ål, contribute to a camp for the disabled at Storefjell, participate in the Sheep Festival, an open park in Hagan for local children and youth.
